About Our Team
The Hardware team at HRT builds the bleeding-edge technology at the core of our global trading operations.
We create high performance compute engines using FPGA and ASIC technology to drive predictive trading decisions on more than 200 markets. We are a highly collaborative, global team of Hardware Design Engineers, Design Verification Engineers, and Physical Design Engineers who work alongside hardware-dedicated C++ programmers to build the platforms that support HRT’s trading.

We build custom solutions across the spectrum of speed and smarts. Our nimble FPGA and ASIC teams design and implement special-purpose chips, including bleeding-edge AI accelerators, with uniquely short development cycles that prioritize fast iteration and experimentation.
Operating as one collaborative unit, our hardware engineers engage directly with Algo teams to build the next-gen hardware that powers HRT’s proprietary foundation models. From programmable circuits to world-class machine learning accelerators, we create the technology that enables one of the most robust, efficient, and sophisticated electronic trading platforms in the world.
Open Source Contributions & Shared Research Culture
Our hardware engineers are passionate about EDA tooling, as we constantly seek to rethink, redesign, and surpass the status quo. Many members of our team are active maintainers of popular open source tools such as Slang, Verilator, and Cocotb.
